Skirting the northwestern rim of Seattle’s hip Capitol Hill, Eastlake begins with a bang along its namesake avenue. None other than the flagship REI store anchors the neighborhood’s southern end in the shadow of hulking I-5. And as the road parallels the highway and a few taverns dot the sidewalks, it meanders north and morphs into a bustling identity all its own.
